Since Kanye West dropped his highly-anticipated album ‘ye’ on Friday, which features the phrase ‘I hate being bipolar’ on the artwork, fans have questioned the rapper’s mental health and now the rapper has shed light on his condition in a new interview.
Speaking to Big Boy for a brief conversation at his album listening party in Wyoming, ‘Ye alludes to his mental health when discussing his recent appearance on TMZ.
“Think about somebody that does exactly what I did at TMZ and they just do that at work, right? But Tuesday morning, they come in and they lost their job and they can’t go back and make that”, Kanye says.
“That’s why God put that on me at age 40. I never been diagnosed until I was 39 years old.”
When Big Boy questions what he means by diagnosed, Kanye responds with “diagnosed with a mental condition”.
‘Ye’s mention of a mental health condition comes just days after the rapper claimed to have bipolar on his new album.
“That’s my bipolar sh*t” Kanye raps on “Yikes”, “That’s my superpower!”
In addition to discussing his mental health with Big Boy, Kanye West explains the creative process behind his new project and reveals that he scrapped his original album after his interview with TMZ.
