After releasing his latest album Jesus Is King yesterday afternoon, Kanye West said he’s ready to go on tour “right away”.
This would be Kanye’s first tour in three years after his 2016 Saint Pablo tour. The tour was due to run until late December but was called off in November after Kanye was hospitalised for mental health issues.
Since his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye has been holding his ‘Sunday Service’ for almost a year, joined by a band and live choir.
Kanye sat down with Big Boy to follow up on the release of the album with a 50-minute interview. During the interview, Kanye told Big Boy that he’ll never perform his old music again; “It got to the point where literally I went from “Jesus Walks” to ‘You’re such a fuckin’ ho, I love it’, I bet you the devil was happy on that day.”
Despite saying he won’t be playing any old tracks during his new tour, Kanye did say he’d like to create an updated version of “Jesus Walks” with the same beat but new lyrics.
The paparazzi caught up with Kanye in New York yesterday after he sent a two-story bus around the streets blaring his new album. The artist spoke about the new tour and revealed his stage design plans.
