This week Kanye sits down with Forbes to discuss topics such as his political party, his previous support for Trump, the infamous MAGA hat moment, and much more in preparation for his presidential run.

With Kanye’s recent announcement on the fourth of July to run for president, he took time to sit down with Forbes to break down his political views and beliefs, even using freestyle to present his ideas. The conversation starts with Kanye stating his plans to run as a republican in his presidential campaign, however he states if Trump is still in the runnings he will opt for an independent, most likely in an attempt to separate himself from the connotations of his past relationship with the president.

However in the interview Kanye does speak positively of Trump at some points stating,“Trump is the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation.” With Kanye now on his new found religious journey this proves to be an important aspect of his running as a president.
