Kanye West’s life is perhaps one of the most intriguing stories in hip-hop.
Kanye’s early career as a producer, his secret release of early tracks which forced Jay-Z’s hand to sign him as a recording artist and his life-threatening car accident are just a few moments that chronicle his rise to global stardom.
Now married to one of the most famous women in the world, Kim Kardashian and the face of Yeezy; a rapidly growing brand with interests in everything from fashion to music and architecture, Kanye is past the beginning of his story and rightfully wants his biography to be told.
A Kanye biopic would be epic and clearly the rapper agrees.
Ye is working on a film about his life and has asked an actor to play him – Danny McBride, the 43-year-old comedian, best known for starring in The Righteous Gemstones and This is the End.
The age difference is not the only reason why fans and Danny alike were left baffled by Kanye’s casting choice – Danny McBride is of white Jewish heritage.
Danny said in an interview, “Kanye asked me to play him in a movie of his life. That was a pretty stunning phone call to get. I don’t know why he wanted me to do it. Maybe that sense of ego I’m able to portray? I have no clue.”
Danny also says that Kanye invited him to meet his family and play Fortnite.
He said, “That was a pretty incredible day. Maybe someday we’ll make the film. Who knows?”
