South London’s very own kayowa has returned with a blazing new single entitled “Fresh”!
For “Fresh” — co-written by kayowa herself and PinkPantheress — kayowa unleashes a flurry of ethereal, kaleidoscopic vigour as their syrupy vocals fuse to the drum-clogged beat.
For the two-minute banger, kayowa moulds the track with light-hearted indie pop tropes, melodic R&B rhythms and hip-hop sensibilities to ensure the Ted Loco and Papuna Ciskadze-produced heater lives up to its namesake.
For visuals — kayowa goes the animated, minimalistic route for “Fresh”. Throughout, we catch an anime-like depiction of kayowa vibe out the track in her own sound bubble.
“Fresh” follows kayowa’s 2021 sci-fi-inspired LP CYBERFLEXX, as well as their lo-fi January offering “Stamina”.
