If you were around in the UK in the mid to late noughties, you definitely would’ve heard about Keisha The Sket and now the story is officially being published as a book.
Stormzy’s #Merky Books imprint – who is publishing the book – announced the news on Twitter, writing: “A British classic revisited for the first time. Keisha. The. Sket.
“Coming soon. Pre-order now.”
In 2005, London-based creative and academic writer Jade LB began releasing chapters of the raw and raunchy Keisha The Sket chronicles and it quickly became a hit with teenagers up and down the nation. Those with mobiles would send chapters to their friends and its uncensored tone captivated a generation.
It lived on phones and websites since the noughties and is now being turned into an official book many years later.
“Keisha is a girl from the ends, sharp, feisty and ambitious; she’s been labelled ‘top sket’ but she’s making it work, the official synopsis for the book reads. “When childhood crush and long-time admirer, Ricardo, finally wins her over, Keisha has it all: power, a love life and the chance for stability.
“But trauma comes knocking and with it a whirlwind of choices that will define what kind of a woman she truly wants to be.
The book is due for release on October 14th and is available to pre-order right here.
