It seems like every couple of months the Kardashians, specifically the younger generation Jenner sisters are found battling cultural appropriation accusations and making public apologies for poorly thought out marketing campaigns.
Well it’s that time again! This time both have combined and while the Jenner sisters tend to turn a blind eye to the many accusations of appropriately black culture for their own profit, this time they were forced to make a statement.
The latest drop on the pair’s joint clothing brand featured images of hip hop icons such as 2pac and Biggie with images of the girls and the letters “KK” superimposed on top.
We fail to see how anyone could have thought this would go down well, let alone how it got through an entire marketing team but somehow it happened. Unsurprisingly, the internet were not impressed.
Biggie’s mum described the collection as “disgusting”. In an Instagram post officially denouncing the collection she said, “The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me.”
This isn’t the first time that the Jenners have made a vintage tee f-ck up. A few years ago when everyone was rocking vintage band t-shirts, Kendall Jenner was spotted wearing a Slayer top. The Slayer front man responded by sporting a top that read “Kill the Kardashians” on stage. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
