Kendrick Lamar has surprised fans by announcing his ‘final TDE album’, in a letter shared on social media.
The musical giant has been hard at work on his long-awaited new record and made the revelation via Twitter.
The rapper shared a URL which contained a folder called “nu thoughts”, in which he wrote the following words: “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” Kendrick wrote.
“The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
“There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough,” he ended the note, signing off as “oklama.”
The somewhat mysterious message has already led to intense speculation, with supporters concerned that the “Money Trees” performer could soon be retiring.
One piece of information that we did get is new Kendrick music will probably be sooner than we think.
His last full length album DAMN was released in April 2017 and the world could definitely benefit from having him back!
