Kendrick Lamar has just revealed the title for his new album due to release on March 23 through Top Dawg Entertainment.
TDE label head Anthony Tiffith tweeted earlier “Don’t all dogs go to heaven? Don’t Gangsta’s boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. It’s the American dream nigga….” – lil Homie” and it has since been confirmed that the title for Kendrick’s album is ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’.
Following Kendrick’s Grammy nominated ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’, comes the first single from the forthcoming album ‘The Blacker The Berry’, which is available to pre-order from iTunes now.
Although the album is currently named ‘Untitled’ according to the iTunes store, and features 16 un-named tracks, the track listing hasn’t yet revealed whether Kendrick’s double Grammy winning single “i” will be included on the album.
The eagerly awaited album also hosts a 12 minute long outro track and features an iconic album cover which was posted by Tiffith on his Instagram account.
Kendrick will be performing in the UK at the Wireless and Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer, and we can also assume there will be a world tour scheduled to promote the album sometime this winter.
