After 7 years of marriage, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from husband Kanye West.
The pair met in the early 2000s with Kanye even making an appearance on Keeping Up with the Kardashians back in 2010. After 2 years of dating, they were married in May 2014 with the wedding taking place in Italy.
However, after a rocky last few months, starting in the summer of 2020, the beauty product mogul and 21-time Grammy winner have called it quits.
According to TMZ sources, the divorce is an amicable one with Kim asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s 4 kids North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. The same sources also state Kanye and Kim are committed to co-parenting together.
The turning point for the 2 came after Kanye launched his Presidential campaign complete emotional outbursts from Kanye, and a series of Twitter shots at the Kardashian/Jenner family on his Twitter account where he even referred to Kris Jenner, the matriarch, as “Kris Jong-Un”.
Sources say Kim was ready to end things there but opted not to due to Kanye going through a major bipolar episode and Kim didn’t want to end the marriage with Kanye’s health in question.
Despite Kim flying out to Wyoming to see Kanye for the first time since his controversial campaign rally and their emotional face-to-face, the pair were unable to repair their marriage.
