Birmingham’s Kofi Stone has just provided his debut album entitled Nobody Cares Till Everybody Does.
Coming with a variety of different sounds, a common theme of smooth boom-bap instrumentals are present throughout which come hand-in-hand with delicate piano samples with story-telling narratives performed with his calm flows. With tunes such as “Talk About Us” featuring Ady Suleiman, “Same Old” and “Rodney Place” being singles from previous releases, they fit into the project nicely, with each tune boasting their own story and energy.
Standout tunes from the project come from the sick “It’s Ok to Cry” featuring Loyle Carner, with the pair spraying heartfelt lyrics with a real mellowness being something that can be taken on board easily. Maverick Sabre’s appearance on “Lost To The Streets” is clean too, as we hear Maverick deliver his consistently flawless vocals in his hook.
“Busker Flow” highlights Kofi’s versatility, as we hear the MC hit the beat with a quick, skippy flow which tells the story of being a busker in Birmingham.
