Konan is expanding his impact beyond music with the introduction of The Konan Awards, a new initiative launched at Camberwell College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London. The scheme is designed to provide financial assistance to final-year undergraduate students as they prepare for their degree shows.
Long recognised as a key figure in taking UK rap and grime onto the global stage, Konan’s work has consistently crossed borders—both sonically and culturally—helping open doors for the next wave of British talent. Away from music, he has continued to grow his footprint across business and charitable work, with a strong focus on supporting young people in South London through mentorship and creative opportunities.
With this latest move, he turns that same energy toward the visual arts. Rolling out this spring, The Konan Awards will support five graduating students across disciplines including Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, Painting, and Computational Arts at Camberwell.
Set against the backdrop of rising living costs in London, the initiative is aimed at easing the financial strain many students face—particularly when it comes to funding materials—so they can fully commit to their creative output at a crucial stage in their development.
