Last year, the much-loved comedy series People Just Do Nothing came to an end but it looks like we’re gonna be seeing the Kurupt FM crew very soon in a brand-new movie.

The gang took to Twitter earlier this morning (November 28) to announce the big news, writing: “ITS OFFISHAL. PEOPLE JUST DO NOTHING THE MOVIE. COMING TO UR CINEMA SCREENS 2020.”

Following on from the final series of the show, People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan will see the guys head to the east Asian nation after hearing news that their single has reached the Japanese people.

Speaking on the film, the producers have said: “Since the end of their pirate radio station, life has been quiet for the Kurupt FM boys, but everything is about to change. News reaches them that one of their songs has been used on a popular game show in Japan. They’ve made it! Their music is reaching hundreds of thousands of people!

“It’s finally time for them to enjoy the fame and fortune that they’ve always known they deserved. Chabuddy G steps excitedly back into his management role as Grindah, Beats, Steves and Decoy begin their journey to international stardom… But is Japan really ready for Kurupt FM?”

MC Grindah has also spoken on the film, saying: “Japan is the most advanced city in the world so it makes perfect sense that they would recognise our lyrical talent. We can’t wait to go over there and completely destroy the music scene. In a good way.”

First aired in 2012 on BBC3, People Just Do Nothing became an instant hit with fans because of the sitcom’s hilarious scenes and commitment to showcasing UKG on the small screen.

Given the success of the series on TV, we can expect People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan to be just as successful at the box office.
