Everyone remembers the flip phone that they once had, right? Well now Lenovo has announced what they are calling the world’s first ‘foldable PC’.

As the world’s largest shipper of PC’s, Lenovo has released its first foldable-display laptop following their Lenovo Accelerate conference last week in Florida. The product is still to be named; however, it will be a part of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 line of laptops.

The foldable PC includes a 13.3-inch diagonal display that has a 4 by 3 aspect ratio when opened at full screen.

Similar to Samsung’s version of the Galaxy Fold, it has an OLED display with a polymer screen. The device will be kitted with Windows software and also feature a default touchscreen keyboard.

Apart from not having a standard keyboard, the device when folded transforms into a sizeable tablet. A spokesperson for Lenovo has made it clear that ‘this is not a phone, tablet, or familiar hybrid; this is a full-fledged laptop with a foldable screen’. They are promoting that the device is ideal for users who are on the go and want the benefit of a full-screen tablet but with vital computer software and battery life.

The device is still in the early stages of development but could launch in 2020.
