Not content with being a world champion F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton seems to have his mind set on making music too. The aspiring rapper has previously said that he’s recorded about 30 tracks already and has even built a recording studio in his home. For anyone who’s kept up you might have seen Lewis with some big players in the scene over the last year or so, notably including Swizzbeats and Pharrell, and even modelling for good friend Drake’s OVO clothing line, but apparently Hamilton has been in talks with Jigga & co at Roc Nation and plans to drop music soon.
According to an insider who spoke to The Sun, “Lewis has been talking to a few music industry figures about his music, including Jay Z’s Roc Nation team. It’s early days but it looks more and more likely that he will release some of the songs.”
The source continued: “Lewis spends a lot of his time in the studio, works with big name collaborators and takes it all very seriously. Formula One is still his number one priority but don’t be too surprised if Lewis tries a pop career, too.”
Will Lewis sign to Roc Nation? We’ll have to wait and see. If his friendship circle and the Roc Nation/OVO co-sign is anything to go by, regardless of labels, this could get very interesting.
