Following his victory in the US Grand Prix on Sunday, Lewis Hamilton has secured his 3rd F1 Championship title.

His latest win has put him into an exclusive club of previous drivers who have managed to secure the coveted crown on three occasions, becoming the 10th person to do so.

Hamilton described it as the “greatest moment of his life” whilst speaking to his team over the radio, also succumbing to tears during his celebration.

On top of all that, the 30-year-old become the first British driver to successfully defend his title.

Widespread praise throughout the country has fallen Hamilton’s way, with social media brandishing the driver as a ‘national hero’.

Lewis also took to Twitter to thank his fans and share his excitement.

However, his success has come with some issues having failed to maintain a good relationship with Mercedes-Benz teammate Nico Rosberg.

The duo have had their fair share of incidents, something that has continued into the US Grand Prix, with Rosberg tossing a cap back Hamilton’s way.

In a strange twist of events, he was joined on stage by pop legend Elton John, who was keen to share the moment with Hamilton.

Three more meetings remain on the calendar, starting with Mexico, moving to Brazil, and ending in Abu Dhabi.
