According to reports from ABC 7 Chicago, Lil Reese has been shot in the neck, leaving him in a critical condition.
The alleged shooting took place during the afternoon of 11 November at Country Club Hills, a suburb south of Chicago. The local police said the rapper suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
The police also said that they encountered an empty vehicle with blood saturating the driver’s seat as witnesses told officials that a man transported him to South Suburban Hospital. Once he arrived at the hospital, Lil Reese – real name, Tavares Taylor – was transferred to Christ Medical Centre to be treated.
Further reports claim that the motive behind the shooting is unclear as this time, with no arrests made.
Since news of the shooting emerged, Lil Durk – who has collaborated with Reese before – took to Twitter to let fans know he’s okay as he tweeted: “Reese good.”
