Little Simz has provided us with a short film for her powerful single, “I Love You, I Hate You”.
Taken from her critically-acclaimed album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, “I Love You, I Hate You” is a track that explores Simz’s strained relationship with her absent father using her emotive lyricism.
Like the song, this new Sam Pilling-directed short film focuses on themes such as childhood, fatherhood and family life, with Simz playing a young woman named Sage who’s still troubled by the pain she experienced as a youngster.
The film also features appearances from Sonia Ajuwa, Shaniqua Okwok and C.J. Beckford who play young Sage, Annie and Omar respectively.
