West London’s Lord Apex and Spanish producer Cookin Soul have joined forces to give us a new project dubbed Off The Strength!
Clocking in at just under half an hour in length, this collaborative tape sees Lord Apex lay down his chilled flows on Chillin Soul’s boom-bap-infused beats across eleven tracks.
Despite its nostalgic hip-hop sound, the pair do provide us with a more contemporary rap style on “M.I.M.S.” where Apex tackles a more bouncy instrumental. Lord Apex does go it alone on much of the project but we do receive a slick vocal cameo from Emilio Rajas on “Stay Alive”.
Off The Strength is Lord Apex’s first project since dropping Smoke Sessions 3 last April and hopefully we’ll receive the fourth instalment this 4/20.
