Love Island will be returning to our screens this summer as the show looks to expand, by featuring a more diverse cast made up of different body shapes and sizes!

After a year of absence due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, ITV is ready to have the popular reality series back for 2021’s summer schedule and have already received over 100,000 applications for the series.

Love Island has previously been criticised due to the lack of body diversity and sources linked to the show said, “In the past, the show has been criticised for being too white and having a lack of body diversity.

“Viewers want to see women and men that they can relate to and hot singletons come in all shapes and sizes so this is a positive move.”

The show is the perfect way to find love, but also opens doors for future opportunities.

Former cast members who have now made a name for themselves include 2019 winner Amber Gill, who now has her own fitness program.

Ovie Soko, who also featured in the 2019 series is now a regular guest on Sky Sports analysing the NBA and 2018’s Wes Nelson has landed a number 3 position in the charts with his Hardio Caprio featured “See Nobody”!

ITV have extended their application deadline past the original April 30th date, so if you can see yourself on the luxury villa of Majorca, head over to ITV’s website to enter!
