Loyle Carner makes a returns to his roots, as he gifts us some words of wisdom for his new single “Georgetown”.
“Georgetown” is introduced with a powerful message from Guyanese poet John Agard, who breaks down the term ‘Half-caste’ which would formally describe someone to be black and white.
Loyle Carner touches on the subject throughout the three-minute offering, diving into his expansive wordplay to describe both sides of himself, as we see Georgetown, home of Guyana in its entirety.
Directed by Machine Operated, the culture of “Georgetown” is shown with cuts of locals going through the streets by horse, dishes being prepared for the community and football being enjoyed on the beach.
