Police in Paraguay raided the prison cell of a drug lord and found that he wasn’t exactly living life in the rough.
Jarvis Chimenes Pavo’s three-room cell is more of an apartment, with a conference room, plasma screen TV, library and kitchen, as well as air con, comfortable furniture, a treadmill and an en-suite bathroom.
It seems the Drug King was also trying to stay educated while he was locked up, as the cell even had a collection of DVDs, one of which was a TV series of the life of Pablo Escobar.
Despite it’s rental potential, Paraguay’s media report that Drug King Pavo’s ‘cell’ has now been destroyed and he’s been transferred to a special unit away from his luxury cell.
Police had learnt that Pavao was planning an escape from Tacumbu prison, hoping to use explosives to blow a hole in the prison’s wall. He was due to finish his sentence for money laundering in 2017, after which he was likely to face extradition to Brazil.
An investigation is now taking place to see which officials allowed Pavao to live his life of luxury.
