Mac Miller’s posthumous album Circles has arrived.
News of Mac Miller’s Circles came last week when the late artist’s family revealed he was working on the LP with producer, Jon Brion, prior to his tragic death in the September of 2018. Circles was meant to follow his previous project, Swimming, to complete his “Swimming in Circles” concept.
Writing on Instagram, Mac Miller’s family wrote: “After [Mac Miller’s] passing, Jon dedicated himself to finishing Circles based on his time and conversations with [Mac].
“We are entirely grateful to Jon and those who gave their best to the difficult and emotional task of putting out this body of work.”
Similarly to much of Mac Miller’s catalogue of music, the production on Circles is dominated by heavy instrumentation which assists Mac’s vocals in creating an easy-going atmosphere. From more upbeat tracks such as “Blue World” to more chilled offerings like “Good News” and “Hand Me Downs”, Circles showcases the versatility of Mac Miller whose legacy will definitely live on.
