Capital XTRA listeners were treated to a special guest today as Mahalia joined Yinka and Shayna Marie to talk music and more!
Fresh off the recent release of “Jealous” featuring US rapper Rico Nasty, Mahalia speaks about how the track came about after having studio/therapy sessions with fellow female talent Miraa May and producer Cadenza.
Mahalia said, “The whole energy behind “Jealous” was standing up to unsupported friends.”
Mahalia has seen progression in herself and her music, and compares her debut album Love and Compromise to the work she is putting out now.
The Leicester-born singer states that there was just one theme with her earlier music; navigating her way through love, but now she can branch out with different topics to speak on. Mahalia says she is “taking steps as a grown woman and learning new things.”
As well as music, Mahalia is taking big steps in being an ambassador for Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie brand which caters to woman of all body types.
