One of UK’s R&B queens, Mahalia, has dropped her first single of the year and has established some standards that cannot be compromised and boundaries that cannot be crossed in protecting herself.
Utilizing the ever-popular crowd/choir format on her chorus, Mahalia outlines three rules that can’t be broken. One of them is “if you tell me lies, you get three strikes/There’s no coming back, boy, please”. Using her golden voice on a mellow yet up-tempo instrumental, it could be said she’s speaking the minds of many ladies like herself. The visualiser depicts Mahalia on set having fun and tattooing “Terms and Conditions” on a man’s back.
