As one of the latest features on Genuis’ Verified series, Mahalia exclaims that she wanted people to see the title “I Wish I Missed My Ex” and be intrigued. She set out to write the song with the idea of wanting to flip the script and write about a time she had hurt someone rather than a time she had been hurt.
Mahalia talks about going against stereotypes and dealing with a partner who was more invested than herself. Whilst singing seamlessly, the UK singer gives us an insight into the story that fuelled the song and the questions she asked herself as to why she didn’t miss her ex.
