Major League DJ’s, South Africa’s finest musical twins, have come to bless their London fans with their music for the first time ever with four nights of residency at Here @ Outernet.
As expected, the pair has been selling out the venue every Saturday this month and have had their fans go crazy in the comments on Instagram trying to get their hands on a ticket.
Last Saturday, 17th of June, the venue was packed again with almost 2000 people waiting to see them. The night was opened by Laelo Black, Kitty Amor and DJEFF, who entertained the crowd till Major League came on to the decks for their long-awaited set.
“La Maluka”, “Chipi ke Chili”, “Tanzania” and “Hamba Wena” were just a few of the most popular Amapiano tracks to get spun on the night, setting the tone for an authentic South African experience that London has been ready for ever since the first Amapiano track hit the sound waves in the UK a couple years ago.
The surprise of the night was Rema, who to everyone’s delight came on stage with the twins after midnight to deliver some incredible dance moves to “Wetsalang”, which needless to say was a wholesome moment.
The pair has been working non stop this year delivering an EP entitled New Beginnings and two albums, Exclusives: Vol 1 and Piano Republik with Major Lazer. Their latest video “Ke Shy” just dropped on Friday and their schedule is filled up for the whole summer.
Major League are at the pinnacle of their career right now and they are certainly not taking their foot off the gas. As the Amapiano wave keeps expanding around the world, we can only guess the new heights the pair is going to reach in the near future, but Saturday night was a statement that everyone is here for it.
Major League, we can’t wait to have you back soon!
