Residents of a remote village in Indonesia were shocked this week when they sliced open a python to find the entire body of their friend.
25-year-old Akbar Salubiro had been missing and friends were worried about his whereabouts, rightly so as it turned out that he had been swallowed whole by the massive snake.
He had headed out for work at a palm oil factory on Sunday but when he never returned home, concerned friends and family sent out a search party. When they found the seven metre snake looking rather swollen in Salubiro’s back garden they feared the worst. They proceeded to cut the reptile open and discovered their friend, still in his t-shirt, shorts and boots.
Speaking to the Mirror a villager said, “people had heard cries from the palm grove the night before Akbar was found in the snake’s stomach. When the snake was captured, the boots Akbar was wearing were clearly visible in the stomach of the snake… Akbar was lifeless.”
Salubiro’s wife, Munu, was away at the time and only found out about her husband’s death through finding images online. Deep.
