Manchester City have confirmed a deal to sign Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Taking to Twitter, the club wrote: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.
“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.”
News of City’s signing comes after Haaland informed Dortmund he planned on leaving the club at the end of this season.
His contract came with a release clause of about €75m (£64m) which appears to have been met by Man City. He’s reported to earn a salary of £350,000 a week plus bonuses with the Manchester side.
Since joining Dortmund in January 2020, Haaland has scored 85 goals in 85 matches for the side.
Haaland has scored 85 goals in 88 matches for Dortmund since joining from RB Salzburg in January 2020. He’s one of the sport’s top young players and had multiple clubs interested in signing him.
