Due to government restrictions following the Coronavirus lockdown, McDonald’s has had to drastically change its UK operations. The dine-in restaurant facilities are still not in use, public restrooms remain closed and the menu has been reduced.

In news which will excite many though, McDonald’s have announced that they will resume serving their breakfast menu at 42 of their restaurants.

Diners will once again be able to order hash browns, McMuffins and pancakes.

In an email to customers, Paul Pomroy, the UK CEO said, “As with our main menu, we will have a limited menu at breakfast but we’ve kept the classics – hash browns, McMuffins and pancakes all return. Unfortunately, whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines, we are unable to serve porridge, bagels and our Breakfast Wrap. This is because we have fewer people in the kitchen.”

This announcement follows the news that several McDonald’s restaurants were reopening for walk-in customers across the UK.

Relaxed lockdown measures have also seen non-essential retail stores be allowed to open their doors to customers – providing that they are able to maintain social distancing measures in-store.
