After closing its stores last month due to the coronavirus pandemic, McDonald’s have now announced plans to re-open stores this month.

Taking to Twitter, the official McDonald’s account released a statement which confirmed 15 branches will be re-opened in the UK on May 15th for delivery only.

Head of McDonald’s in the UK, Paul Pomroy, said: “We are working hard to reopen more restaurants… Slowly, but safely we will return.”

The statement from McDonald’s also reveals the new safety measures which staff will adhere to, as well as the limited menu and hours.

Pomroy added: “Rest assured, we are working hard to reopen more restaurants, but I am adamant this must be at the right pace with the wellbeing of our employees, suppliers and customers front of mind.”
