If broken milkshake machines grind your gears, you’ll be even more gutted to hear that over 1000 McDonald’s stores across the UK have run out of milkshakes due to supply issues.
The fast-food chain released a statement today confirming that milkshakes and some bottled drinks were unavailable at 1,250 of its outlets.
“Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products. Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales,” a spokesperson for McDonald’s told The Independent.
“We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience. We are working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible.”
McDonald’s isn’t the only company to be dealing with shortages as around 94% of hospitality businesses are experiencing problems with the delivery of products, according to trade body UKHospitality.
Just last week, Nando’s had to close many of its stores due to supply issues.
Given that milkshake machines at numerous McDonald’s restaurants always seem to be broken, the supply issue is just another blow for milkshake lovers.
