It’s been a few weeks since McDonald’s closed its stores in the UK due to the coronavirus pandemic but it looks like the fast food chain could be re-opening very soon.
A reporter for Farmer’s Journal tweeted “Breaking: the @farmersjournal understands McDonalds will reopen its restaurants in the UK and Ireland in mid-May.”
The reporter claims McDonald’s stores in the UK will open in mid-May but added its services will be “limited to drive thru and delivery only.”
The news comes after McDonald’s closed all stores in the UK on March 23rd because of the threat of coronavirus, writing in a statement: “This is not a decision we are taking lightly, but one made with the well-being and safety of our employees in mind as well as in the best interests of our customers.”
Other fast food restaurants followed suit and closed their doors but since then, many have re-opened for delivery only, including KFC.
