Picture the scene, you’re hungover and craving junk food. You want a Big Mac, 20 nuggets and a strawberry milkshake from McD’s but the idea of leaving the house is way too much for you. We’ve all been in the position where we ask the universe “why doesn’t McDonalds deliver?!” Well the universe was listening.
In a massively game changing move, McDonalds has announced that it will begin trialing home delivery services in the UK.
The junk food donnies already offer delivery in a few countries in Asia, but has announced today that soon the US, UK, France, Germany and Canada will also get the privilege of Maccas to their front door.
The move has come after McDonalds has seen its sales fall drastically over the last few years – losing 500 million customers since 2012. Since places have UberEats and Deliveroo have blown up recently McDonalds is jumping on the hype. They said, “coupled with the explosive growth in third-party delivery companies, the landscape has created an exceptional opportunity for growth.”
In an official statement McDonalds have cemented their plans and are confident about the success of the outcome. “The landscape has created an exceptional opportunity for growth. Because of our extraordinary footprint, McDonald’s is uniquely positioned to become the global leader in delivery.”
No word on how long before we’ll be seeing McDonalds on the streets yet though.
