McGregor to meet for retirement U-turn talks

Many UFC fans were devastated last week when Conor McGregor took to Twitter to announce his retirement from his mixed martial arts career.

Although it looks like that might not be the complete end for the two-weight champion as he’s set to hold talks about a retirement U-turn with UFC president, Dana White.

McGregor failed to secure a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz as well as turning down the fight with Donald Cerrone. This meant McGregor was unable to agree on terms for his return to the sport.

This isn’t the first time McGregor has made an attempt to retire. Three years ago he ‘retired’ from the sport before negotiating a better deal to come back to. This is what Dana White believes McGregor is attempting to do again.

With McGregor featuring in five of the biggest six pay-per-view events and pulling UFC over £450million for the Floyd Mayweather fight, he’d be a massive talent for the sport to lose at this current time.
