MckNasty has enlisted Kojey Radical for powerful new single “Not Nice”.
MckNasty brings a very raw sound to this single, as we hear a very minimal and percussion-led sound with live drums. The vocals on the track draw true focus form the listener, with the lyrics showcasing a high standard of clarity. These artists articulate to what seems like a conversation formed with music, with the sensitive subject of racism being approached firmly.
Kojey Radical hops on the feature, effortlessly flowing to a beat that is very well suited to the tone of his voice. South Africa’s Laudable matches this energy with precision; seemingly going back and forth with Kojey, with both feeding off each other’s energy.
The visuals draw key symbolism to the theme of the track, with a Black male being stripped of his possessions and being pushed into forced labour. This however differs to what you would expect, as the specific work at hand brings us into the 21st century, nodding at the obvious continuation of the issue at hand.
