In today’s uplifting news, a U.K. based mental health support line has been launched to help and support people working in our music industry, following in the footsteps of call lines like the Samaritans.
The system was established by Help Musicians U.K. as part of their Music Matters campaign, launched earlier this year after the suicide of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.
The line not only offers advice for musicians but also those working behind the scenes in roles like management, tour crews and record labels. The BBC reported that Help Musicians has seen a 22 per cent rise in requests for help from musicians in the past year.
The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 0808 802 8008 and is free to call.
