Coming through with a brand-new project dubbed 4th Quarter is the east London veteran, Mercston.
This new tape from Mercston may clock in at just 12 minutes but in that time, he’s still able to flex his range as an artist.
4th Quarter begins with the recently released “Greatness” where Mercston flexes his elite flows, before coming through with more melodic-sounding offerings on “Soul Ties” with Quesswho and Puerto RJ, and “Vanilla” featuring The Rara.
On the closing track “Bittersweet” with Kaleem Taylor, Mercs showcases his storytelling skills to detail a heartfelt track centred around a complicated love.
This EP is Mercston’s first project since releasing his long-awaited debut album, Top Tier, at the start of 2020. Since then Mercs has remained pretty quiet but hopefully this tape is the start of a wave of new releases from the rapper.
