Microsoft are set to release a new version of the latest Xbox which doesn’t take discs.
The digital gaming age is upon us, as Microsoft have taken a huge step in supplying the first digital only Xbox, the Xbox One S. This means that games will only be available to play via Xbox Game Pass, or through purchase on the Microsoft Store.
Other than it’s lack of a disk drive, there is not too much to differentiate it from the current Xbox S model, and the two are pretty much identical looks wise.
The new console will have 1TB of storage, Dolby Atmos sound and 4K video streaming and is set to be sold for just £199, £50 cheaper than the current model. It will come bundled with three of Microsoft’s most popular games: Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, and Sea of Thieves.
With the release of Google’s first games console on the horizon, the Google Stadia, the advent of digital gaming is upon us.
