With preparation for the Xbox Series X launch this holiday season, Microsoft is discontinuing the Xbox One X and Xbox One S Digital Edition, the company announced on Thursday.
Microsoft said in a statement, “As we ramp into the future with Xbox Series X, we’re taking the natural step of stopping production on Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition.“
“Xbox One S will continue to be manufactured and sold globally. Gamers can check with their local retailers for more details on Xbox One hardware availability.”
This will leave Microsoft’s Xbox One S as the only console in Microsoft’s lineup from the current generation.
The all-digital Xbox One S may also be discontinued by Microsoft to make way for its cheaper next-generation Xbox, codenamed “Lockhart,” which is expected to be unveiled next month.
