Mim Shaikh has paid tribute to Cadet with a new release called “Blaine’s Name”.
Today marks the third anniversary of his untimely passing and to honour the musician, Mim Shaikh has released this poignant and heartbreaking poetic spoken-word piece.
In the accompanying message, Mim wrote: “The 9th February 2022 marks 3 years since we lost dear Cadet. I wrote this spoken-word piece entitled ‘Blaine’s Name’. The purpose of this video is merely to convey the message that his Mother was sharing at the time of his death. That message is revolving around the importance of expression. I think it’s so important, and necessary for young men in particular to hear it. Share her words, spread them so that youngers out there, especially those who have lost anyone, know that expression can be their way out.
“Thank you to every single person who assisted with this vision. I appreciate you. Rest in Power my brother. Legendary settings always.”
Remembering Blaine for his goodness, his talent and his humanity, this release is one of healing.
