Iconic New York rap duo Mobb Deep return with their first new release since Prodigy’s passing in 2017. Produced by Havoc, the surviving half of the legendary partnership, Against The World arrives as the opening chapter of their upcoming album Infinite, set to drop on October 10th.
“This feels like closing a circle,” Havoc shares. “It’s the raw, uncompromising Mobb sound — dark, authentic, and unapologetic. It’s the essence that defined us, but it also resonates with the state of hip-hop today.”
Infinite showcases Havoc’s production at its core, while also reuniting the duo with longtime collaborator The Alchemist, who contributes four cuts to the project. The record marks the fourth release in Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It… series spotlighting New York rap pioneers, joining earlier instalments from Slick Rick (Victory), Raekwon (The Emperor’s New Clothes), and Ghostface Killah (Supreme Clientele 2), with new projects from Nas & DJ Premier, Big L, and De La Soul still to come.
