The iconic UK based Chicken shop Morley’s has made it to America… sort of.

Disney star Skai Jackson was shocked to learn that her image was being used in a London Morley’s branch to promote the store and talk show host Wendy Williams covered the story in the Hot Topics segment of her long-running daily show The Wendy Williams Show.

Wendy said as she showed the image to the audience, “there’s a popular place in London, it’s called Morley’s chicken and there she is…and she (Skai) had no idea”.

Wendy gave her opinion on the controversy and said “I feel like her publicist should be accountable because they get those alerts every time your face shows up some place. Morley’s chicken definitely needs to be sued under the bus”.

Wendy also suggested that the use of Skai Jackson’s image to sell fried chicken was racially motivated and offensive. Check out a clip from the episode below.

This is not the first time a celebrity’s image has been used without their permission to sell a product, Ludacris has unwillingly become the face of several barber shops across the world and Beyoncé of a hairdresser in South London and a brand of bread.

Skai Jackson, who appeared in long-running Disney shows Jessie and Bunk’d, discovered that her image was being used by Morley’s via Twitter. She was messaged that her picture was being used to “sell fried chicken” and 16-year-old Skai responded with “Run me my check”.

She later revealed that she has yet to receive any monetary compensation from Morley’s.

According to another picture sent to Skai via Twitter, the offending Morley’s branch have covered over her image.

Perhaps the publicity surrounding the story will lead to branches of Morley’s popping up across America. We will keep you updated with this story and for more fast food news, check out the latest disgusting discovery at McDonald’s, here on GRM Daily.
