Croydon has emerged as the UK’s most romantic city this Valentine’s Day, according to a new study conducted by CasinoReviews.

The research analysed the romantic inclinations of all 73 UK cities by scrutinising Google search data for 79 romantic-related keywords, ranging from “Valentine’s Day” to “engagement rings” and “romantic gift ideas”.

The findings revealed that Croydon topped the list with an average of 10,345 searches per month and 4,763 searches per 100,000 residents. Key search terms in Croydon included “Valentine’s Day”, which was searched an average of 1,751 times per month, and “wedding dresses”, with an average of 991 monthly searches.

Following Croydon were cities like Sutton, Blackpool and Derry, which also showed significant engagement with romantic topics. For instance, Sutton garnered an average of 2,991 searches per month, with popular search terms including “engagement rings” and “florists near me”. Blackpool and Derry followed closely behind, with monthly averages of 3,766 and 5,520 searches, respectively.

Conversely, Aberdeen ranked as the least romantic city, with significantly fewer searches compared to its counterparts. Despite an interest in “Valentine’s Day”, Aberdeen’s search figures were notably lower, indicating a relatively lower level of engagement with romantic themes.

Among the cities ranked as the least romantic were Oxford, Cambridge, Bradford, Northampton and York. These cities displayed lower levels of search activity for romantic-related keywords, suggesting less interest or engagement with Valentine’s Day and related topics.

Overall, the findings offer a fascinating glimpse into the nation’s romantic landscape, underscoring the enduring significance of love and affection in society. Whether through grand gestures or simple acts of kindness, the spirit of romance continues to enrich the lives of individuals and communities across the UK.
