Former heavyweight champion of the world, Muhammad Ali was today admitted into hospital with respiratory problems.
Said to be in a ‘fair condition’, family spokesman Bob Gunnell wrote in a statement, “A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy”.
Retiring from the ring in 1981, Ali has suffered from Parkinson’s Disease since, he was previously hospitalised in 2015 with an infection thought to be pneumonia.
Now aged 74, the former champ was last seen in April at a celebrity fight night.
