Shish restaurant in Sidcup has done the rounds on social media this week, for offering a free three-course meal to the homeless and elderly on Christmas Day.

According to the restaurant owners, “no one [should] eat alone on Christmas Day”, reflecting the sad reality that a number of elderly and homeless people aren’t as fortunate as the rest of us to have company on one of the most special days of the year.

The menu consists of a soup and cacik starter, a casserole or shish for mains, and a rice pudding dessert, but more importantly the company of all the other guests who’d be attending.

Good on ’em, and big respect to this restaurant for the selfless act in the festive season, showing us that kindness trumps religious boundaries.
