Toronto-based activist and artist Mustafa has unveiled his powerful single entitled “Stay Alive” produced by Frank Duce and James Blake.
He took to social media to announce the single, stating, “It takes a village, it takes a few lifetimes… Rest In Peace to the friends I’ve lost, long life to the ones still living, nothing in vain, Regent Park forever.”
In 2019, Mustafa released the short film, Remember Me Toronto, which included an appearance from fellow Canadian Drake. He brings the same anti-gun message in “Stay Alive” this time shot in his neighbourhood.
The visuals are centred around Regent Park which is currently in the process of being gentrified and those currently living there being seen as insignificant.
