In a seemingly unlikely collaborative effort to some, Ne-Yo has enlisted Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don on his latest early summer-fuelled hit “Push Back”.
After being away from the scene for a while now, it seems as though Ne-Yo is back to reinstate his name and once again, make his mark on the scene he once dominated, releasing countless R&B classics in the mid 2000’s. His latest track, however, takes a more unorthodox route for Ne-Yo as he brings in two fairly new faces for a brand new dancehall laced commercial record.
Bebe Rexha began her career as a feature on G-Eazy’s breakthrough hit “Me, Myself & I”, a time where G-Eazy himself was starting to really break the mainstream market as a rapper from California’s Bay Area. As a result of the mass appeal the record received, it also aided in the launch of Bebe’s own musical career, which has seen her go on and collaborate with the likes of Nikki Minaj, Lil Wayne and One Directions Louis Tomlinson.
Having said that, her success also speaks volumes for the influx of female artists who we have seen refresh the scene over the past year, with Stefflon Don being at the forefront from a UK representative point, who has really blown up over in the states over the past year or so, which is particularly down to her hit record “Hurtin’ Me” with French Montana, a song which has reached Gold status in the UK.
