Neil Parish has been suspended from the Conservative Party after being named as the MP who was allegedly caught watching porn in the House of Commons.

As well as being suspended from the parliamentary party, Neil Parish – who represents Tiverton and Honiton in Devon – is also under investigation by the Commons Standards Committee.

A spokesman for the chief whip said: “Having spoken to the chief whip this afternoon, Neil Parish MP is reporting himself to the Standards Committee of the House of Commons.

“Mr Parish has been suspended from the Conservative Whip pending the outcome of that investigation.”

Neil Parish’s suspension comes days after two female colleagues claimed they saw him looking at adult content while sitting near them in the Commons.

His identity had not been revealed until today.

Speaking on the allegations for the first time yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “It’s obviously unacceptable for anybody to be doing that kind of thing in the workplace.

“It would be the same for any job up and down the country.

“Clearly that kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable.”

Conservative Chief Whip Chris Heaton-Harris has asked for the matter to be referred to Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.
