Streaming giant Netflix have now opened entries for its Documentary Talent Fund which aims to support up and coming filmmakers in the UK.

The competition – which has opened today – is open to everyone and will see Netflix UK provide 10 filmmakers and their teams with the opportunity to make a short documentary under the brief of “Britain’s Not Boring And Here’s A Story” with a budget between £20,000 and £40,000.

All teams will be guided by Netflix and other filmmaking professionals to ensure everyone involved in production is paid fairly.

The finished documentaries will each be between 8-12 minutes long and will live on Netflix UK’s social channels.

Kate Townsend, Director, Original Documentaries said, “We’re really excited to open up this opportunity to ambitious documentary filmmakers in the UK. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up a camera before, we want to encourage anyone with a great story to tell, to go for it. We are on the hunt for the bravest, wittiest, most surprising stories out there and we can’t wait to see what you’ve got!”

Entries are open from 4th January to 31st January so to submit your entry and for more information on the application process, click here.
